India adds over 10 million new employees to the workforce every year. This is equivalent to roughly the entire population of the Czech Republic or Portugal.
Government of India promised 20 million jobs annually three years back, while the reality is that 1 to 2 percent of the government’s target has been achieved.
"Nandini Voice for the Deprived," aims to highlight the problems of downtrodden and deprived people and support their cause. To promote probity and ethical values in private and public life and to deliberate on socio-economic issues in a dispassionate and objective manner.
Immediately on coming to power , Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally committed himself to the goal of achieving clean India (Swachh bharat) and he demonstrated his commitment by taking the broom stick himself and cleaning the garbage. He has done this on several occasions at various places during the last three years.
The Supreme Court order banning the liquor shops within 500 metres of highways has been criticized by liquor producers, merchants and liquor addicts all over India. Claims are made that such closure will lead to loss of millions of jobs all over India and huge loss of income for the government. These are exaggerated fears and misgivings.
Nandini Voice for the Deprived, organised an Essay Competition for residents of TamilNadu on “How to give long term relief to farmers of delta region in Tamil Nadu?”.
There was good response for the Essay Competition from all over TamilNadu.

It appears that Tamil Nadu Government as well as Government of India have agreed to the demand of state politicians, environmentalists and local people in Neduvasal and have decided not to pursue the Neduvasal hydrocarbon project.
One is not sure as to whether the decision of the government to give up the project due to local opposition is appropriate, considering the long term national interest.
Trustee Nandini Voice For The Deprived had the opportunity to interact with the local people living in and around Neduvasal in Pudukottai district in Tamil Nadu , who are protesting against the proposal to take up natural gas exploration projects in the region. The interaction took place during a two hour session with the concerned people in a programme organized by a leading Tamil TV channel, when cross section of people in different age groups , education level and income level, both men and women , from the region and local MLA participated and were encouraged to express their views . The writer was asked to respond to their observations , provide the necessary clarifications and suggest appropriate future course of action.
One part of India or the other undergoes severe drought or heavy flood conditions every year.
Following such trend, Tamil Nadu is presently undergoing one of the worst drought conditions in the recent years. The severity of the drought is well reflected by the reported suicide of more than one hundred farmers in the state in the last few weeks, unable to bear the distress conditions in the farming operations. Such farmer suicides have also taken place in other states like Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh in recent time due to failure of monsoon and consequent drought conditions.
The recent students agitation in Tamil Nadu demanding jallikattu has been applauded by Tamil media and section of English media,. Some have even said that the students in Tamil Nadu have now received world admiration for conducting this agitation and has set a new trend for the student community all over India.
